Can do Business solutions is owned by Carri Nicholson and offers a range of consultancy services including business transformation and change. When the coronavirus pandemic hit the UK, Carri lost three clients in three days.
However, within days opportunities began to arise. Local businesses facing uncertainty started contacting Carri for assistance on how to rethink their existing business strategies to adapt to the crisis. With a lack of resources, she found herself in a position unable to take on new work and cater for her clients in desperate need of consultation.
Carri contacted Askif who enabled her to access a £20,000 CBILS loan on a 12-month repayment period to power the business growth necessary to meet new demand. This meant two jobs could be retained and one could be created to help Carri manage the sales and administration needed to support the launch of her new programme for businesses managing the change – ‘Culture cascade’.
Joanna Hill, Commercial Director of AskIf commented: “Businesses across the UK are pivoting to find success and positivity under the toughest of circumstances, Carri applied and successfully gained a CBILS loan to not only protect, but to expand her business during the next twelve months.
“Carri was introduced to us by Transmit Growth Loans, our Delivery Partner in the North East whom spoke very highly of Carri and of her networks across the region. We were delighted to learn more about her business and her ideas. Carri was full of energy and enthusiasm and really wanted to help others to achieve success. We’re confident the funding she received from us will make a difference to her company and to all the businesses she supports in the future.”
Carri launched her business in January 2016 after a career spanning 28 years in business environments. She offers a number of consultancy services including vision, values and ethos clarification, business strategy mapping and business transformation and growth planning. Working in a mentorship style, Carri helps business leaders from struggling startups to established firms reach their potential and is passionate about industry growth in the North-East; where she launched and continues to run her business.
When the coronavirus pandemic hit, Carri faced some losses, losing three clients in three days. She commented: “I was worried, my big clients pulled the plug on programmes. It was a huge shock.”
However, since the UK has been in lockdown, Carri has experienced more demand for business support with contacts from her local network reaching out for assistance. At present she is helping businesses plan accordingly to help them mitigate against the crisis. Carri has started running online drop-in sessions
